ISSCA has announced plans to launch the first bilingual (English and Spanish) regenerative medicine newsletter.
MIAMI, Jan. 15, 2018—The International Society for Stem Cell Application (ISSCA) will launch the first bilingual (English and Spanish) regenerative medicine newsletter January 23, 2018. The monthly newsletter will be available for free to email subscribers and shared through ISSCA social media channels.
The newsletter will include three sections:
- Regenerative Medicine Business News
- Regenerative Medicine Research and clinical applications
- Upcoming Regenerative Medicine Training
Regenerative Medicine Business News will provide the latest updates on policies, legislative, regulatory and reimbursement initiatives to support research and development of regenerative medicine products, and business development and investor information on opportunities in the fast-growing stem cell and regenerative medicine market.
Regenerative Medicine Research and clinical applications will follow the latest findings on regenerative medicine research and development—from tissue engineering to cell therapies, and the different challenges involved in live tissue handling and manufacturing. In addition, the newsletter will include information on the latest clinical applications of regenerative medicine therapies.
The newsletter will also include schedules and registration information on upcoming regenerative medicine training and certification courses, along with registration information.

Global Stem Cells Group announces plans to expand its Stem Cell Center Network to include a new stem cell treatment center in Escazú, Costa Rica.
MIAMI, Dec. 21, 2017—Global Stem Cells Group (GSCG), a world leader in stem cell and regenerative medicine, has announced the opening of a new stem cell center in its Stem Cell Center Network in Escazú, Costa Rica. The new center will focus on treating patients who suffer from regenerative illnesses.
The new center, located at the CIMA Hospital in Escazú, will be headed by Leslie Mesen, M.D., a specialist in anti-aging medicine.

MIAMI, Dec. 22, 2017—Maritza Novas Research Director, Global Stem Cells Group, earned recognition for her work and achievements in regenerative medicine at the XVIII International Congress of Aesthetic Medicine, Aesthetic Surgery and Obesity, Dec. 2, 2017, in Mexico City.
Novas has been in the forefront of medical and anti-aging medicine since 2001. The recognition, signed and presented to her by Congress President Rector Doctor Arturo Conde at the event, honored her for 10 years of dedicated service educating others on clinical applications of stem cells.

The International Association for Stem Cell Application moved to a new office at Piedra 383 at Ciudad Autonoma of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The move accommodates ISSCA’s increasing specialty and patient volume, as well as its expanding regenerative medicine certification training programs.

The two-day, hands-on training course focuses on pain management and aesthetic regenerative medicine protocols. Practitioners learn skills that can be used to treat patients in their practices, and for career advancement. MIAMI, Nov. 22, 2017—International Society for Stem Cell Application (ISSCA) President Daeyong Kim, Ph.D., has named Ernesto Miguel Delgado Cidranes, M.D., Ph.D., Regional Director of the ISSCA chapter in Europe.
Cidranes is an anesthesiologist and resuscitation and intensive care specialist in, Madrid, Spain. He is a renowned expert in pain management and promotes an integrative and interdisciplinary approach to the treatment of pain. Cidranes’s areas of expertise include interventional pain management, pain treatment, stem cell therapies, and regenerative medicine.
As the European regional director, Cidranes will promote ISSCA activities in EU, and collaborate with the organization to establish new standards for regenerative medicine protocols worldwide. Cidranes will conduct a specialized training workshop in pain management and cosmetic gynecology Feb. 25-26, 2018 in Madrid, Spain, and plans to promote the workshop throughout Europe.

MIAMI, Nov. 22, 2017—The International Society for Stem Cell Application (ISSCA) President Daeyong Kim, Ph.D., announced the appointment of Alfredo Hoyos, M.D., Regional Director of the ISSCA chapter in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.
As regional director, Hoyos will promote ISSCA activities in those countries and collaborate with the organization to establish new standards for regenerative medicine protocols. Hoyos will be in charge of organizing two hands-on stem cell training courses to be held in Bogota March 2-3 and July 6-7, 2018. Hoyos will also be in charge of the International Regenerative Medicine Symposium to be held in Bogota in July, 2018.
Hoyos is a world-renowned board-certified plastic surgeon from Bogota, Colombia, specializing in aesthetic plastic surgery, maxillofacial surgery, and hand surgery. He earned his medical degree from El Rosario University, Colombia, and completed visiting fellowships in aesthetic surgery at New York University, in maxillofacial surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, and in facial aesthetic surgery at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in New York. He serves as chief scientific officer for ISSCA affiliate Global Stem Cells Group in Miami.
Hoyos invented high definition liposculpture (HDL) and dynamic definition in lipoplasty (4D) techniques, as well as other advanced techniques focused on body contouring. He has also refined techniques in fat transfer (buttock and pectoral lipograft) and breast augmentation.
